[00:01:21] 3 Fates Decide podcast.

[00:01:23] Greetings fellow acolytes and welcome to another episode of the Westerosi Primer.

[00:02:12] My name is Liz and I am back for season 2 of this podcast.

[00:02:18] If you're new to this podcast, welcome.

[00:02:21] I hope you get a chance to check out the episodes I had done in the first season just so you can get a feel for what this show is about and how I go about doing things.

[00:02:34] So this is going to be a relatively short episode where I just let you guys know what am I covering this season.

[00:02:44] If you listened to the last episode I did, which was the season finale of both House of the Dragon Season 2 and Season 1 of this podcast,

[00:02:56] I let you guys know what the topic of this season was going to be.

[00:03:01] I had done a poll asking all of you listeners to let me know what you guys wanted me to talk about for this season.

[00:03:10] Quite bizarrely, it turned out that there was a three-way tie and I had to be the deciding vote.

[00:03:18] Ultimately, the choice I made was I would do a deep dive discussion of House Targaryen.

[00:03:26] Just because I'm going to be doing a deep dive discussion of House Targaryen,

[00:03:31] there definitely will be spoilers for House of the Dragon and also any other adaptations that Max might be doing in the future that involves House Targaryen.

[00:03:45] If that does not bother you in the slightest, then I am going to be very happy for you to continue listening to the show.

[00:03:55] If you feel like, no, I don't want to listen to this because it's going to spoil everything for me,

[00:04:03] then I will understand if you choose not to listen to this season.

[00:04:08] However, I will have to emphasize that regardless of what topic I end up doing in future seasons,

[00:04:17] chances are it's going to spoil something about this saga for you.

[00:04:21] That's all I can really tell you.

[00:04:22] But I'm just letting you guys know because this should be full disclosure so that you listeners can make informed decisions about what type of media you are listening to.

[00:04:36] Hopefully you do not complain to me later about why did I spoil these things for you

[00:04:42] when I'm clearly telling you right now from the very beginning that this will probably spoil things for you.

[00:04:48] Now, I'm anticipating that this season will be a total of 14 episodes, including this episode.

[00:04:57] Possibly it could go to 15 episodes.

[00:05:01] And that is because the way I've structured this season is that each episode will be covering roughly one Targaryen king each episode.

[00:05:14] So I would be talking about the life of each of the kings and I would also be including mentions of various figures that made some impacts in the life of that king.

[00:05:29] And of course, I will definitely mention other Targaryens as well in those episodes,

[00:05:36] which is why what I initially thought would be a relatively simple season in terms of the script writing

[00:05:44] turned out to be a lot bigger project than I anticipated.

[00:05:48] In fact, as I'm recording this episode, I have actually only completed two scripts, including the recording and most of the editing.

[00:05:59] I'm about to finish up the editing for two episodes.

[00:06:02] I'm still writing the script for episode four, which happens to be about King J. Harris the first.

[00:06:10] In fact, there is going to be at least two kings where I'm going to have to split up my discussion of those kings into two episodes

[00:06:19] because of how much stuff I have to talk about in order to do a proper deep dive of these particular kings and some of the people involved with them.

[00:06:32] That's basically the reason why I said that it's going to be 14, possibly 15 episodes.

[00:06:38] But we'll see what actually happens.

[00:06:41] And it's because there's all this information that it's actually taking me a lot longer time than I thought it would to actually finish the scripts.

[00:06:52] I'm going to do the best I can and try to get these things done in a timely manner.

[00:06:59] That's also the reason why I'm trying to get at least the first three episodes of this season done so that I will give myself additional time to finish up more episodes.

[00:07:12] But yeah, I am hopefully going to create content that you guys actually enjoy.

[00:07:21] And I hope that you will let me know what you thought of this season overall as I release each episode.

[00:07:31] But yeah, that just about covers everything I really need to say in terms of the season.

[00:07:38] This is going to be the part of the episode where I do a couple of CTAs.

[00:07:44] So as I always say with every episode, I created a website for this podcast.

[00:07:52] You just have to go to thewesterosiprimer.com.

[00:07:57] The name of this podcast?

[00:07:58] Thewesterosiprimer.com.

[00:08:00] And on that website, I have all the show notes for all the episodes that I have produced and will be producing in the future as they come out.

[00:08:12] I also have a blog, which currently doesn't have a ton of content, but I'm hoping to change this in the future, which I always say, but doesn't always happen.

[00:08:23] But there's a lot of optimism, at least.

[00:08:27] I also have a lot of information about the podcast that you can check out there.

[00:08:34] Also on the website, there are links to the Instagram and Axe account I created for this podcast.

[00:08:42] If you happen to be users of either of those social media platforms, feel free to subscribe and follow on there to show your appreciation and your love for this show.

[00:08:56] I certainly appreciate it if you guys who do follow the social media accounts, leave comments and even share some of the stuff that I actually posted on those platforms.

[00:09:10] I have also created a newsletter for those of you who do not use social media, but you want to be notified in your inbox at your own convenience of any updates related to the podcast and any other interesting content related to the saga that you may want to check out.

[00:09:34] Interestingly enough, the newsletter is done through Substack, which is a really good newsletter platform for readers and writers.

[00:09:45] So if you have not already subscribed to the newsletter, I have the link on the website.

[00:09:50] If you sign up to read the newsletter via Substack, you also have the ability to find writers who write about other topics that you may be interested in.

[00:10:05] So it's also a convenient way for you to discover other content creators that you may be interested in.

[00:10:11] Just so you know, I am not one of those newsletter writers who is going to constantly spam you with emails every single day.

[00:10:19] The content that I will write on the blog will also be content that I post via the newsletter as well.

[00:10:27] It's not going to be anything that you're getting very frequently.

[00:10:31] At best, I'm only going to write the newsletter maybe a handful of times each month so you don't have to worry about me constantly bugging you with stuff in your inbox when I'm sure your inbox is already pretty cluttered as it is.

[00:10:48] Mine certainly is.

[00:10:50] And as a little side note, I actually have two Substack publications.

[00:10:55] As I mentioned, one is for this podcast.

[00:11:00] The other publication I have is actually for another fandom that I happen to be also interested in, aside from A Song of Ice and Fire.

[00:11:10] And that is that I am a very big fan of Japanese and Korean comics.

[00:11:15] So I read plenty of manga and manhwa.

[00:11:18] I also watch a lot of anime.

[00:11:21] And in the case of the Korean stories, I'm also interested in watching K-dramas as well.

[00:11:28] So if by coincidence you guys also happen to be interested in those things, I have the other Substack publication that you can also find a link to on the website.

[00:11:40] So feel free to follow me on Substack if you are not going to be following Instagram or X for this podcast.

[00:11:48] It's just another option for you guys to be somewhat involved with this show and some of my content.

[00:11:57] But yeah, that just about covers it.

[00:12:00] As always, I appreciate all of you for listening every single time I post an episode.

[00:12:07] Out of all the different podcasts that exist out there, the fact that you're offering any bit of your time to listen to what I have to say is something I certainly appreciate.

[00:12:20] So I will see you next week when I will be discussing the man, the myth, the legend himself, Aegon the Conqueror.

[00:12:28] So, Valar Morghulis.

[00:13:07] What did you think of this episode?

[00:13:10] Check out thewesterosiprimer.com and let me know what you think of this episode.

[00:13:15] If you have a friend or two that might like the show, make sure to share.
