01:46 --> 01:57 [SPEAKER_00]: Before I get into the reaction and final thoughts on this episode and the season overall, I would like to remind everyone that

02:34 --> 02:43 [SPEAKER_00]: So with that said, let me get into my overall reaction and thoughts of this episode.
02:43 --> 03:03 [SPEAKER_00]: I can appreciate that basically the storylines in this episode can be summarized and categorized into three main storylines with connected storylines weaved in there.
03:11 --> 03:22 [SPEAKER_00]: So I guess I will start this off with Heron Hall given that it is the pre-fist of the storylines that were happening in the episode.
03:22 --> 03:30 [SPEAKER_00]: So at Heron Hall we are mostly focused on what's been going on with Amen who has been still trying to sort himself out.
03:30 --> 03:32 [SPEAKER_00]: which I am not going to lie.
03:32 --> 03:49 [SPEAKER_00]: It really is basically copying what they did last season with Damon, where you have Raymond basically at Harry Hall the entire time since he showed up and he's been trying to figure out what he wants to do with himself.
03:50 --> 03:58 [SPEAKER_00]: And I will say that it's interesting that they gave Alice the backstory they did, which I'm not going to lie.
03:59 --> 04:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Is a choice?
04:01 --> 04:03 [SPEAKER_00]: It's an unexpected choice.
04:03 --> 04:11 [SPEAKER_00]: It's a weird choice because they're in essence saying that Alice has been alive for over a hundred years.
04:12 --> 04:25 [SPEAKER_00]: If you paid attention to her story that she was telling, which based off of the expressions on her face, it's implied that the story is actually about herself and not just some random woman.
04:26 --> 04:38 [SPEAKER_00]: As for what George has to say via his books about Alice Rivers, he doesn't give us a straight answer as to the origins of Alice Rivers.
04:39 --> 04:44 [SPEAKER_00]: Some of the origins that he writes indicates that
04:52 --> 04:58 [SPEAKER_00]: at one point master of law and then later hand of the king back in season one.
04:58 --> 05:15 [SPEAKER_00]: So I would say a lot of book readers assumed that is actually her origin that she is one of his master kids that he had at some point in his life and she was permitted to live at Herron Hall.
05:16 --> 05:40 [SPEAKER_00]: There's also an alternative story that says that maybe she was a servant, maybe she was also what's described as a woods witch which is basically some woman who lives in the countryside and she does a lot of folk medicine and maybe practices some form of magic depending on what
05:42 --> 06:00 [SPEAKER_00]: but the idea of her being alive since the ironborn controlled the riverlands is something that the TV show writers came up with, which as I said earlier, is a choice and I am not here to say that I think it's
06:01 --> 06:02 [SPEAKER_00]: had idea.
06:02 --> 06:05 [SPEAKER_00]: I just think it's a strange one, but I don't know.
06:05 --> 06:09 [SPEAKER_00]: I guess they just want to play up the whole spooky witch.
06:10 --> 06:15 [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe maybe not aspect of the character, and that's why they did that.
06:15 --> 06:23 [SPEAKER_00]: It's also interesting that we see that Aegon shows up at Heron Hall to confront his brother.
06:24 --> 06:39 [SPEAKER_00]: And he's basically telling his brother what the hell have you been doing all this time and you need to snap out of it because I need you and your dragon to help me get the throne back.
06:39 --> 06:49 [SPEAKER_00]: So wake up, which makes this really interesting a choice because it makes it into a complete role reversal of their relationship.
06:50 --> 07:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Because the last time the two of them saw each other, Aegon was, you know, weakened position, and he felt ejected and not sure what the hell to do with himself anymore.
07:04 --> 07:17 [SPEAKER_00]: Meanwhile, Aiman is full of confidence because he's defeated a powerful dragon in the second season, and he has an opportunity to take over the throne when Aegon is down now.
07:18 --> 07:29 [SPEAKER_00]: And then now we have the complete reversal of that situation where Egon is now a man of action who has plans and ambitions that he wants to get done.
07:30 --> 07:34 [SPEAKER_00]: And his brother is being a total sad sack right now.
07:35 --> 07:47 [SPEAKER_00]: It's actually a pretty entertaining dynamic, which I'm not going to lie, and I think that it will be very interesting to see how that turns out in the fourth season.
07:48 --> 07:49 [SPEAKER_00]: It really will.
07:49 --> 07:50 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to lie.
07:50 --> 08:08 [SPEAKER_00]: I am going to be very curious to see what exactly the writers plan to do with Aegon and Amen being together mainly because in the book the two never really unite again by this point in the story.
08:09 --> 08:32 [SPEAKER_00]: Aegon actually went somewhere else instead of looking for his brother, but I already discussed that in the second season of this podcast, I'm not going to repeat myself here, and also I don't want to spoil people about where he was originally supposed to end up going to instead of hunting for his brother.
08:32 --> 08:50 [SPEAKER_00]: But again, I will be curious to see what exactly the writing team intend to do with the two brothers being on a slightly different relationship dynamic and also what exactly they intend to do together at this point.
08:50 --> 09:01 [SPEAKER_00]: So next I'm going to talk about King's Landing and what's been going on there after episodes of Raniera feeling completely frustrated with her current situation in King's Landing.
09:03 --> 09:12 [SPEAKER_00]: She's decided that she needs to start using more of an iron fist to run things and
09:13 --> 09:27 [SPEAKER_00]: She's decided to get rid of Masaria because some of the more peaceful ways of trying to rule the kingdom is just not working for her at this point.
09:27 --> 09:30 [SPEAKER_00]: And to be fair, it is very frustrating for her.
09:31 --> 09:32 [SPEAKER_00]: We've all seen it.
09:32 --> 09:36 [SPEAKER_00]: And clearly, Masaria's ideas are just not working.
09:36 --> 09:38 [SPEAKER_00]: So that's why
09:41 --> 09:53 [SPEAKER_00]: And to be honest, a lot of people online have basically said that they were hoping Masario would be gone because frankly, a lot of viewers don't particularly like the character.
09:53 --> 09:55 [SPEAKER_00]: I have to say that
09:57 --> 10:01 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm also not a really big fan of the character in general, but for different reasons.
10:02 --> 10:07 [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like my dislike of the character.
10:07 --> 10:11 [SPEAKER_00]: It's partially because of the way she's portrayed on the show.
10:12 --> 10:21 [SPEAKER_00]: They gave her a role in a relationship with Reneera that, of course, it's not in the book, the way they portrayed it.
10:22 --> 10:37 [SPEAKER_00]: but it just also in many ways didn't make much sense, but I will say they at least made an effort to make it so that they retain her role as mistress of whispers.
10:38 --> 10:54 [SPEAKER_00]: It's just that it felt very strange to me that they made this character the Jimmy Cricut to Reneira's Pinocchio kind of a thing Because Massaria is not really this I am for the people type of character
10:55 --> 11:17 [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like they did a similar treatment on her as they had with Varus in Game of Thrones because Varus in the books versus Varus in Game of Thrones is in some respects pretty different in particular their motivations for what they're doing.
11:17 --> 11:25 [SPEAKER_00]: In Game of Thrones, Various keeps talking about how he's all about the stability of the kingdoms and how he's for the people.
11:26 --> 11:40 [SPEAKER_00]: Meanwhile, in the book, it's pretty obvious as you keep following his storyline that he's out for something else that has nothing to do with the stability of the kingdoms.
11:41 --> 11:53 [SPEAKER_00]: If you are somebody who is genuinely about the stability of the kingdoms, you wouldn't be plotting all sorts of plots to destabilize someone's reign.
11:53 --> 12:07 [SPEAKER_00]: Even if you don't particularly like the ruler that you're serving under, if you gave a crap about the common people, then why are you doing things that are counterproductive to that in truth?
12:07 --> 12:35 [SPEAKER_00]: But of course, Missaria does strike back ever so slightly with her dismissal by warning Helena that the situation is not going to be good for her either, which is an interesting writing decision they made there because in the book it's speculated that one of the reasons why Helena ends up doing what she does is partially because of Missaria's
12:35 --> 12:37 [SPEAKER_00]: instigation in some way.
12:38 --> 12:41 [SPEAKER_00]: But of course, that's a theory in the book.
12:41 --> 12:58 [SPEAKER_00]: It's never explicitly stated because obviously the fictional historian who is the author of Fire and Blood wouldn't know what would be Helena's motivations and what could have caused her to make a drastic decision.
12:58 --> 13:07 [SPEAKER_00]: which is why in the book they write it in a way where you're left with potential theories as to why Helena dies.
13:08 --> 13:16 [SPEAKER_00]: Some theories stayed that, again, Messiah was the one who said something to her to make her do it.
13:17 --> 13:36 [SPEAKER_00]: others speculated that Reneera for whatever reason arranged for her sister to be killed, which doesn't make a lot of sense why Reneera would do something like that because it's not like she would really gain anything out of doing it.
13:37 --> 13:55 [SPEAKER_00]: because by that point in the book, the only kid she had left is Jay Hera, which is again the same thing in the show, and Helena by herself is not a threat to Reneera, same thing with her daughter, so there's no reason why she would want to kill her sister.
13:56 --> 14:10 [SPEAKER_00]: but ultimately Helena does what she did and she jumped out the tower and it's indicated that she is imhailed and that's how she dies and it's very sad and tragic that it happened.
14:11 --> 14:18 [SPEAKER_00]: Another speculation was that she was depressed about the death of her other son.
14:19 --> 14:29 [SPEAKER_00]: So this may be a spoiler to some people, but I want to heavily emphasize that I actually discussed this back in season two of this podcast.
14:30 --> 14:42 [SPEAKER_00]: If you feel like listening to the two part episodes that I did about the dance of the dragons, then you can head over there to listen to more details
14:49 --> 14:56 [SPEAKER_00]: They have the two twins, Jay Harris, and Jay Hera, and then they have a younger son named Maylore.
14:57 --> 15:09 [SPEAKER_00]: So in the book, basically, the blood and cheese incident, which happened in season 2 of the show, Jay Harris does end up dead as well.
15:10 --> 15:15 [SPEAKER_00]: So all that she had left was her daughter Jay Hera and her younger son, Maylore.
15:16 --> 15:33 [SPEAKER_00]: Malor ends up being sent away to Old Town in order to protect him because since he is the only son left of Agons, he is a potential claimant if anything were to happen to Agon.
15:34 --> 15:37 [SPEAKER_00]: So it was very important to get the boy away from King's
15:40 --> 15:45 [SPEAKER_00]: Let's just say that something happens to the kid where he dies as well.
15:45 --> 15:48 [SPEAKER_00]: So it really is down to Jay Harrow left.
15:48 --> 15:57 [SPEAKER_00]: And one theory is that Helena was so filled with grief that she killed herself because she finds out that may or die.
15:57 --> 16:11 [SPEAKER_00]: In fact, this is actually a theory connected to Mesarium where the thing that Mesarium did was tell her that Mailer was dead, and in her grief, she jumps out the tower.
16:11 --> 16:23 [SPEAKER_00]: So I think it's interesting that for the TV show, they gave Helena's motivation as something similar, but not exactly the same, where she is depressed.
16:24 --> 16:35 [SPEAKER_00]: and filled with a lot of internal despair that she is ever going to find freedom and she will be able to have a happy life with her kids.
16:36 --> 16:48 [SPEAKER_00]: I am going to be very curious to see what impact this has on Reneira's reign in the fourth season because I can tell you right now in the book it really
16:51 --> 17:04 [SPEAKER_00]: But you don't need me to tell you that because as you can tell just from the season alone, things have a huge potential to go downhill very fast for her in the next season.
17:04 --> 17:08 [SPEAKER_00]: But we're going to have to wait and see how that actually happens.
17:09 --> 17:16 [SPEAKER_00]: She also made a very interesting decision to confront the high-septin and to have him killed for refusing to crown her.
17:16 --> 17:41 [SPEAKER_00]: I know there had been a lot of speculation over the course of the season among those of us who are book readers as to whether or not the high scepton in the show was meant to be connected to the shepherd who was a notable character in the dance towards the final year or so of the war.
17:41 --> 18:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Though with his death in this episode, I wouldn't be too surprised if his death combined with Reneira's speech to the people, we'll start creating some religious tension within King's Landing and even within different parts of Westeros.
18:02 --> 18:17 [SPEAKER_00]: Mainly because the faith of the seven is the dominant religion in West rose and there are a lot of people within West rose who are very faithful adherence of the religion so they may interpret
18:18 --> 18:35 [SPEAKER_00]: What happened at the sect as being sacrilege and therefore Reneera is no longer the type of person that they would want on the throne because she's committing blasphemy against the gods, et cetera, et cetera.
18:35 --> 18:43 [SPEAKER_00]: It's very possible, therefore, that some aspects of Shepard may happen in the fourth season.
18:43 --> 18:55 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if they will specifically cast a character like the Shepard or they will just straight up create the character the Shepard and cast somebody important to play the role.
18:56 --> 19:05 [SPEAKER_00]: I would say that in some respects, the shepherd is similar to the high sparrow in game of thrones, except he's more overtly radical.
19:06 --> 19:15 [SPEAKER_00]: He would probably sound a lot more like one of those rambling street preachers that you sometimes see on the streets of New York or in the subways.
19:16 --> 19:22 [SPEAKER_00]: if you've ever been to New York or you are a New Yorker like I am, you know exactly what I'm talking about.
19:23 --> 19:24 [SPEAKER_00]: But he's kind of like one of those kind of people.
19:24 --> 19:25 [SPEAKER_00]: So who knows?
19:25 --> 19:29 [SPEAKER_00]: We will see in season four what they choose to do.
19:30 --> 19:45 [SPEAKER_00]: Again, this is just going to be one of many decisions that is going to affect how people see her in the fourth season and it's going to affect how her reign is going to turn out in the fourth season.
19:46 --> 19:50 [SPEAKER_00]: But I am going to be curious to see what some of you listeners think.
19:50 --> 20:02 [SPEAKER_00]: So you can head over to the westerocprimer.com, sign up to the totally free membership on the website and you will be able to leave comments and share your opinions.
20:03 --> 20:12 [SPEAKER_00]: You also have the option of sending me an email or filling out the contact form where you can also write in your opinions.
20:13 --> 20:16 [SPEAKER_00]: I would genuinely be very interested to see what people think.
20:30 --> 20:37 [SPEAKER_00]: The biggest part of the episode is of course the super long, awaited battle of Tumbledon.
20:38 --> 20:58 [SPEAKER_00]: Given how the battle turned out, I will be genuinely curious to see if this battle was meant to be a combined version of the two battles from the book or if they are going to repeat it in the fourth season.
20:59 --> 21:06 [SPEAKER_00]: Only because Egon and Amin potentially are going ahead to tumble tin once they figure
21:08 --> 21:27 [SPEAKER_00]: Though I will suspect that's not going to happen mainly because by the time they find vague are they probably will find out that Tumbledon is already lost and a good chunk of the high tower army was also destroyed fighting in the battle.
21:28 --> 21:38 [SPEAKER_00]: At this point, the only forces left to really back the green faction are the storm lands and the western lands.
21:38 --> 21:44 [SPEAKER_00]: It's not well depicted in the show, but the reach is split.
21:45 --> 21:52 [SPEAKER_00]: Some parts of the reach back Reneera and some parts of the reach back the heighthours.
21:53 --> 22:07 [SPEAKER_00]: Once the high tower army is mostly gone, there's just not a whole lot left of the reach to support agon or his brothers, whoever you believe should be the king at this point.
22:08 --> 22:14 [SPEAKER_00]: And the main forces left to fight for them would be the western lands and the storm lands.
22:14 --> 22:17 [SPEAKER_00]: The Stormlands have been mostly quiet at this point.
22:17 --> 22:28 [SPEAKER_00]: We have yet to see them in action, but I have a suspicion that we're going to see Boros Baratheon and some of his boys coming back on the show next season.
22:28 --> 22:38 [SPEAKER_00]: The battle's pretty awful, and the crazy part is that honestly they actually toned it down for the TV show because I indicated
22:38 --> 22:55 [SPEAKER_00]: last episode and I will remind people that if you were to actually read what happened in the first battle and the second battle of Tumbleton, you will see how there were a lot of war crimes happening and I don't just mean stabbing and killing.
22:56 --> 22:58 [SPEAKER_00]: It was just awful in the book.
22:58 --> 23:01 [SPEAKER_00]: So in some respects, they kind of toned it down.
23:01 --> 23:16 [SPEAKER_00]: They, of course, introduce the betrayal by all, although it is an interesting choice where all of didn't just burn some of Damen's army.
23:16 --> 23:19 [SPEAKER_00]: He also burned some of the hidehours.
23:20 --> 23:26 [SPEAKER_00]: And he also killed a bunch of civilians along the way because he just didn't give a crap anymore.
23:26 --> 23:39 [SPEAKER_00]: He is so sick of everybody pushing him around and disrespecting him that he's like, you know what, if you're going to treat me like garbage, I don't give a damn about all of you anymore.
23:39 --> 23:48 [SPEAKER_00]: So screw you and he just burns everything a bit like what Danny did in season eight of Game of Thrones,
23:50 --> 24:03 [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be very interesting to see the consequences of that decision because a lot of people who are also dragonwriters are going to be very pissed off at him.
24:03 --> 24:12 [SPEAKER_00]: And he is going to be a man with a ticking clock on his head.
24:12 --> 24:25 [SPEAKER_00]: I will also be curious to see what Hugh does because he's not stupid, he was part of the army invading Tumbledin with Damon.
24:26 --> 24:35 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, he saw a lot of people fighting in the street, but he was also likely aware of what Alf was doing.
24:35 --> 24:39 [SPEAKER_00]: Alf may not have burned his wife to death.
24:39 --> 24:54 [SPEAKER_00]: But he added to a lot of the chaos that was happening and I am going to be curious to see what he does because this is very different from the book in truth.
24:55 --> 25:01 [SPEAKER_00]: actually he was also a turncoat against Reneera.
25:02 --> 25:17 [SPEAKER_00]: He and all actually turned allegiances and actually decided to go with high towers because they were both promised Lordships a very important land which just makes the situation even worse for Reneera.
25:17 --> 25:29 [SPEAKER_00]: It's a very interesting decision that they decide to make only one of them betray her and the other one as of right now seems to still be on her side.
25:29 --> 25:36 [SPEAKER_00]: I will be very curious to see how that turns out for him and what he chooses to do.
25:37 --> 25:43 [SPEAKER_00]: The interesting thing is that in case you guys listening to this episode are not aware,
25:44 --> 25:48 [SPEAKER_00]: Vermithor and Silver Wing, who are the two dragons at all, and who are writing.
25:49 --> 25:55 [SPEAKER_00]: They were both dragons of King J. Harrison Queen, Allison, husband, and wife.
25:57 --> 26:01 [SPEAKER_00]: And the two dragons are also mates, as well.
26:01 --> 26:07 [SPEAKER_00]: So some of Silver Wing's eggs were likely produced with Vermithor.
26:08 --> 26:20 [SPEAKER_00]: So having the two riders go in opposite directions where one rider chooses to basically betray everybody and the other one as a right now is seemingly still a loyalist.
26:20 --> 26:28 [SPEAKER_00]: It's interesting to see how that's going to turn out later because if you choose to stick around with Reneera side,
26:29 --> 26:42 [SPEAKER_00]: He's going to likely be asked to confront golf and that's going to be a crazy situation because you're going to have Vermithor fighting silver wing, which is going to be interesting to say the least.
26:43 --> 27:00 [SPEAKER_00]: It's also pretty different from the book again because if there is no second battle, then some of the craziness from the second battle will not be portrayed in the show, which I think is going to be very disappointing because the second battle is a huge deal in the book.
27:00 --> 27:13 [SPEAKER_00]: Just so that I don't spoil people, I'm not going to bring it up again until we get to the fourth season and we get a confirmation as to whether or not they opt to do the second battle or not.
27:14 --> 27:20 [SPEAKER_00]: It's also interesting to see Damon in action in this episode.
27:21 --> 27:26 [SPEAKER_00]: It's pretty interesting that they had Damon at the Battle of Tumbledin because he was not there in the book.
27:27 --> 27:35 [SPEAKER_00]: In fact, he was actually in the Riverlands searching for Damon instead of Bayla and Adam doing that.
27:35 --> 27:40 [SPEAKER_00]: But I guess it kind of makes sense because considering that Damon is a guy of action,
27:40 --> 27:44 [SPEAKER_00]: action, and of course he's being portrayed by Matt Smith.
27:44 --> 27:49 [SPEAKER_00]: We need to have Damon out on the field actually killing his enemies.
27:50 --> 27:54 [SPEAKER_00]: Damon had his moment to fight in the field.
27:55 --> 28:01 [SPEAKER_00]: And unfortunately, this is about all that he ultimately lost because of what Ulf did.
28:01 --> 28:06 [SPEAKER_00]: We also saw a couple of notable deaths that happened in the battle.
28:07 --> 28:14 [SPEAKER_00]: This includes, of course, Norman Heitauer, who was the villain of the season, I guess you could say.
28:14 --> 28:24 [SPEAKER_00]: And then we also had Rodrick Dustin, which, as I've seen from a lot of reactions online from various people who have watched the show,
28:25 --> 28:47 [SPEAKER_00]: He seems to be a real fan favorite this season, so RIP to him, and of course, we also have a question of where exactly did Dayron go, because the battle ended very suddenly with all flying off, and there's a lot of chaos happening in Tumbleton.
28:48 --> 28:57 [SPEAKER_00]: Considering that we didn't actually see his body, we are left to presume that he either was able to get away or he recovered and ran off.
28:59 --> 29:11 [SPEAKER_00]: Resumably, we will get an answer to that in the fourth season, because Deiron has a lot more to go within the storylines.
29:12 --> 29:15 [SPEAKER_00]: So we will see how that happens.
29:15 --> 29:21 [SPEAKER_00]: After all, we never really got a chance to actually see the character flying on a dragon.
29:22 --> 29:32 [SPEAKER_00]: Granted, we did technically see him in the second season, but we never actually got to watch the actor riding on to Sarian.
29:32 --> 29:45 [SPEAKER_00]: Another character just to briefly mention, I am also very curious to see what will happen to Coralus, because Damon was pretty pissed off at him for suggesting
29:51 --> 29:59 [SPEAKER_00]: assumed to be a king, or at least he's one of the kings being pushed for by Orman High Tower.
29:59 --> 30:12 [SPEAKER_00]: And Damon makes it very clear that he considers Coralist a traitor for even suggesting such a thing, and I will be very curious to see if Damon decides to tell Reneera about this when they
30:15 --> 30:25 [SPEAKER_00]: Given her attitude in this episode, she is very likely to not take it very well and there will be additional problems between the two of them.
30:25 --> 30:42 [SPEAKER_00]: We're just going to be very difficult because she doesn't have a lot of reliable advisors left to her at this point and very few people are going to be able to persuade her or advise her in a way that will be effective in the long run.
30:43 --> 30:53 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm also going to be very curious to see how her behavior affects the relationships between her coreless Adam Allen and Bala.
30:54 --> 30:59 [SPEAKER_00]: That whole network of relationships are going to be very messy indeed.
31:00 --> 31:03 [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be interesting to see how that turns out next season.
31:04 --> 31:10 [SPEAKER_00]: I am going to be very eager to see what happens in the fourth season with all of these characters.
31:11 --> 31:21 [SPEAKER_00]: The season overall is not quite as bad as the second season was, but the writing in the season was also not that great either.
31:21 --> 31:31 [SPEAKER_00]: It's better, but there were a lot of issues that I've mentioned across the season in the previous episodes, so you don't need me to rehash that.
31:32 --> 31:47 [SPEAKER_00]: I will see about perhaps writing some blog posts during my little hiatus about other things that I feel about the show once I've had more time to think about what's happened a little bit further.
31:48 --> 32:02 [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, so that is season three of House of the Dragon before I close out just a couple of important podcast business to get to.
32:02 --> 32:07 [SPEAKER_00]: First of all, I will definitely be doing a season five of the podcast.
32:08 --> 32:26 [SPEAKER_00]: If you were a listener back during season three, I had been running a poll where listeners have the ability to take a survey and let me know what they think I should do for a future season of the podcast as a theme.
32:37 --> 32:48 [SPEAKER_00]: But then there are other seasons of this podcast where I will be writing up scripts and doing a little bit of lore research and such.
32:48 --> 32:54 [SPEAKER_00]: So I was curious to see what all of you listeners were interested in.
32:55 --> 33:02 [SPEAKER_00]: Strangely enough, only a very small number of people filled out the survey, which don't get me wrong.
33:07 --> 33:25 [SPEAKER_00]: But I will say it was slightly disappointing that not a lot more people participated mainly because it would give me not just more of an idea how many people were listening to the show, but also who actually is interested enough in this podcast to have any kind of opinion.
33:27 --> 33:44 [SPEAKER_00]: And just to feel like you listeners are just as involved with this podcast as I am, I wanted to give you guys an opportunity to share what you think and by letting me know what topic you would like me to talk about.
33:45 --> 34:00 [SPEAKER_00]: So there was a tie vote and I had to be the tie breaker because only six people voted which was a little strange and the votes were spread out fairly evenly so I had to be a tie breaker and ultimately I decided
34:01 --> 34:16 [SPEAKER_00]: that season five the theme will be about various theories that book readers are familiar with and continue to debate about that those of you who are show watchers
34:17 --> 34:45 [SPEAKER_00]: are not familiar with and I will be explaining not only what these theories are, but I will also be discussing which characters are involved with some of these theories and why do people think these theories and potentially what context in the novels that George wrote himself would support some of these theories is going to run a huge gamut of topics that I am working on
34:47 --> 35:03 [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to run everything from who John Snow's mother actually is, to who is going to end up on the iron throne, to random weird tinfoil hat theories.
35:04 --> 35:14 [SPEAKER_00]: One of the more famous ones that I'm going to mention right now is the weird theory that Varus is secretly a merman, which even to this day I still don't understand that one.
35:17 --> 35:20 [SPEAKER_00]: You're going to have to wait until I come back from my little hiatus.
35:22 --> 35:27 [SPEAKER_00]: I actually have been debating for a while as to when I would release season five.
35:28 --> 35:38 [SPEAKER_00]: It mostly depends on when I can get my act together and finish writing scripts, and then recording and editing the episodes.
35:38 --> 35:40 [SPEAKER_00]: I have a tentative date.
35:42 --> 35:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Initially, I was going to start releasing it in September, but then stuff happened and I am nowhere near ready to do a September release date.
36:01 --> 36:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Again, it really depends on my schedule and how able I am to prepare all the scripts for the episodes involved.
36:10 --> 36:17 [SPEAKER_00]: Currently, I'm anticipating 11 episodes, which you may think, oh, you know, it shouldn't take you that long.
36:18 --> 36:23 [SPEAKER_00]: It does take me some time because, of course, I do work a normal 9 to 5 job.
36:24 --> 36:27 [SPEAKER_00]: I have other things I gotta do offline.
36:27 --> 36:45 [SPEAKER_00]: And also, I want to put some effort into my scripted episodes versus reaction episodes like this one where I just need to watch the show and jot down some notes, spend a little time marinating on what happened and then just express my thoughts.
36:46 --> 37:07 [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, so I would suggest that you guys sign up to the newsletter where I will definitely make an announcement confirming when I will start releasing season five of the podcast, as soon as I make a final decision about it, I will bid you all farewell until the next season, the lar, more Googleis.
37:44 --> 37:45 [SPEAKER_00]: What did you think of this episode?
37:46 --> 37:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Check out thewesterocprimer.com and let me know what you think of this episode.
37:52 --> 37:56 [SPEAKER_00]: If you have a friend or two that might like the show, make sure to share.
